At least we will not have to hear thefollowing statements, for example

Reporter: "Are major league players allowed to sweat?"

Fehr:"That's up to discussion when the labor agreement is renewed."

Reporter: "Will it rain at the all star game tomorrow?"

Fehr: "That's up to discussion when the labor agreement is renewed."

Reporter:"Is Todat Thursday?"

Fehr: "That's not in the labor agreement so I don't guess I can comment on that."

It's easy to hate Donald Fehr and Marvin Miller before him, but they did their jobs well which was to protect the interests of their constituency. The MLBPA is the most powerful union in the world. For comparisons sake look at the NFLPA and the NBAPA - both were essentially turned into lap dogs for their respective league managements.
