Confidence in Pike?

So I'm watching the Hawaii game on Bearcat Classics and I see that Pike got pulled in favor of Grutza. And I remember how bad he looked in the Orange Bowl. How much confidence do we have in him? I saw Kiper has him listed as his fifth best QB. Wow, I'm a little skeptical. Hopefully those performances are not what we see this year. With our D being questionable, we can't have any on offense.

The Bearcats put on full pads today for the first time in fall camp and ran 50 to 55 plays in a scrimmage situation at the end of practice complete with officials. Quarterback Tony Pike showed that he’s still as accurate as he was last year when he completed 14 of 15 passes – mostly short-range stuff - for 125 yards and one touchdown.

I'm sure he'll be fine, but watching that game made me remember he didn't exactly go out well last year.
