Default Zach Frazer

Did he, will he, commit to UC???

UC Bearcats: The rumors are a swirling

Any ND fans have anything to say about this dude? I know he was a redshirt freshman last year so no one's really seen him, but he was a much sought-after recruit coming out of high school. Here's an old thread about him from a Buckeye Planet message board.

How much QB competition does UC need anyway? I realize this guy wouldn't be in the mix until '08, but apparently Coach Kelly wasn't moved by Grutza's hair donation.

One of my good friends has a son on the UC football team. He said that Dustin Grutza can definitely see the writing on the wall, and that he has decided to stick it out and get his degree as opposed to transferring. According to Grutza, Coach Kelly has been very upfront and honest with him about his future playing time if everything goes according to plan.

The prophecies are coming true. Why did no one believe me? I said the second they signed Kelly that he would have no intentions of starting Grutza. Everyone threw stats in my face and said he was the guy.

A coup for the Huskies!!

And for the record TYZ - I have been a Grutza Basher along with ya. I remember there was a dude on this site who was his #1 fan but that guy sort of disappeared after the International Bowl.

And how does this kid think he's got a better chance of winning the Big East there rather than here? I'd love to hear the rationale behind that thought process.

I'm unsure, but he probaby won't play his first year at UCONN because Tyler Lorenzen is in the way. He just signed there from a JC and is projected as the starter the next two years.

UConn had over 100,000 more asses in the seats than Cincinnati in 06.

If that is in fact true, I still don't see what it has to do with the quality of the team and/or their ability to win games.

I think this had everything to do with opportunity. I think UC has 15 quarterbacks in the mix for '08.

Facilities possibly played a part. Connecticut has a new stadium just five years old, and last season was still the newest facilty in D1-A. And they just opened the new training center and football complex.
