It's just that I think that UC has very little room to complain. Be happy with what has been given to you. Have a few more great seasons, win a few more bowl games, and then complain about your lot in BCS life.
It's great to want more, but the desire of the fans right now just seems like whining. Better the pizza bowl than no bowl at all, right?
Just so you know, I went to Kent. The only way my team goes to a bowl game is if they buy a ticket. I would not be complaining if the Flashes went to the pizza bowl.

The problem is we went to bowls like this back in the C-USA days. The Big East was supposed to bring better games not stab us in the back and fuck us over for the sake of politics. At least it looks like the shared-revenue plan will make the low payout a non-factor.
I'm going to the game and trying to make peace with the Bowl we got. But when people tell me to shut up, bend over, like it, and be thankful for ANY bowl... it just pisses me off again. Nine win teams shouldn't be thankful for ANY bowl. Excuse the fuck out of me if I don't want to get passed over by three teams the Bearcats beat on the field.

Tedesco - you still have that "fuck tracker" on Woody?
The best thing UC fans can do is go down and support the team in large #'s. the best thing the team can do is kick the shit out of SMU. Send a message to the boys over at Meineke and Brut. I'm sure that's what The Broiler intends to do.

I'll be there. Hopefully, I won't be alone.
Like I said, I'm a little sensitive about this.

Hey, at least your team gets to go to bowls.
UC fan: The Pizza Bowl is a piece of shit.
Kent fan: It is a piece of shit! Don't worry about it, I don't even have a piece of shit! I have to envy yours.
UC fan: Oh, thanks.

What tOSU fans don't realize or want to admit is their arrogance about their program is what leads UC fans to root for their demise.

I can buy that but Florida Fans (and SEC fans in general) are much more arrogant but yet hmm... UC fans love to do the Gator Chomp when Buckeye people are around.
Buckeye fans are just passionate and have a lot of pride. They are focused on Michigan Trash Talk - not UC trash talk.

In all honesty Franny, there is a fine line between being passionate and being arrogant. I'm not necessarily saying you, but I know a lot of tOSU fans that straight up believe that Buckeye shit doesn't stink. Right now tOSU benefits from an overall lack of decent sports in the state. People like a winner, and right now tOSU is the best thing out there.

The way I see it, UC fans are projecting themselves on OSU fans when they cry of arrogance and elitism. Look at the shit they have been saying all year - they shouldn't be scheduling home-and-homes with non-BCS schools, they shouldn't have to play non-BCS schools in a bowl game, they "deserve" bowl games against BCS opponents, they have "earned" that right, etc etc etc - UC fan is just as arrogant as they accuse OSU fan of being this year - only on a smaller scale - while OSU fan is defending their right to play for the national title, UC fan is defending their right to play in a car parts bowl.

We get that UC doesn't have a good history. UC went out on the field this year and proved themselves more worthy of playing Southern Miss in a bowl game. That is UC fans' gripe. Getting passed over by two teams we beat who collectively have been playing 10 years of D-1 football (when our history is why were told we don't get a better bowl) is our gripe. I don't know when or why OSU ever got brought up in this equation.
Woodman I will be there by your side in Birmingham. We need to kick the snot out of Southern Miss to prove our gripe is valid.

One thing that intrigues me is that the belief by Buckeye fans that their "fanhood" actually has an impact on the interworkings of the programs.
I actually had one Bucknut tell me that he sends the program a weekly suggestion for a game plan and offers his "scouting" advice.

I think I agree with the remark on a national show a few days ago since you are talking about arrogant. They were talking about Tubby Smith. They said 95% of UK fans were nice people and 5% were arrogant and cost Tubby his job. I think you have to reverse those percentages when you are talking about THEosu fans.

Yes there are dickhead OSU people. There are dickhead UC people. And A LOT of dickhead UK people. But, alas, this is a thread about UC's Bowl... not crazy Buckeye Fans.
AND FOR THE RECORD (yes, off the thread topic) - Lance and Tom Gamble have been blasting "Big Ten Blowhards" all week since the BCS NC game was announced. I really don't know any Big Ten Blowhards. There are Ohio State Blowhards but I've never seen anyone calling up talk shows and pounding their chests about the Big Ten. That's an SEC+Big East disease. To these people the conference's success is more important than a specific team. Ohio State fans love the Buckeyes. They are proud of the Buckeyes. They don't give a flying fuck about the Indiana Hoosiers.
