Computers may be unbiased, but they are far from being fully informed.

The final conference standings from the 34 bowl games -

Mountain West 4-1
Big East 4-2
SouthEastern 6-4
Big Ten 4-3
Big Twelve 4-4
Western Athletic 2-2
Sun Belt 1-1
Atlantic Coastal 3-4
Conference USA 2-4
Pacific Ten 2-5
Mid American 1-4

Thank goodness that Central Michigan beat Troy for two reasons. If Troy had won 1) The MAC would have been winless, and 2) The Sun Belt would have been the only undefeated conference, albeit with only two bowl games.

Now, if we look only at bowl games played against BCS-ranked opponents, the standings are

Big Ten 4-0
Western Athletic 1-0
Big Twelve 2-1
SouthEastern 3-2
Mountain West 1-1
Atlantic Coastal 1-4
Pacific Ten 0-4
Big East 0-1

How about that, sports fans! Those standings are signficant and telling, I think.

Hell I don't know.
What if all four of them played Alabama?
What if Cincinnati played Alabama, West Virginia played Texas, Pittsburgh played Florida, and Rutgers played Boise State?

OK, I'll try to answer the question.
If those four Big Ten teams played the teams that finished the year ranked 1 though 4, those four Big Ten teams would not have been 4-0 in their bowl games. BUT, those top 4 ranked teams would not have all won their bowls, either!
How about that?

The Big Ten played close to if not the toughest bowl schedule. But there has never been a conference so strong that you couldn't imagine a schedule too tough for them to win. EVEN the mighty SEC.
What if...

Alabama played Texas (OK, that happened)
Florida played Boise State
Louisiana State played Ohio State
Mississippi played Texas Christian
Georgia played Iowa
Tennessee played Cincinnati
Arkansas played Penn State
Auburn played Virginia Tech
Kentucky played Oregon
South Carolina played Brigham Young

...would the SEC have a winning bowl record? No, they would not.
