Default Browns Terminate Deal with Channel 19

In a crazy story, the Cleveland Browns have abruptly kicked their local television parnter to the curb. Apparently Channel 19 in Cleveland ran a gruesome 911 tape of Randy Lerner's sister Nancy Fisher, making a 911 call because her daughter drowned in a creek.

From what I heard earlier they were the ONLY station in Cleveland to play the 911 tape. It would be one thing if there was anything of value in the tape, but clearly there was not, and I think it was a huge mistake to play it. I don't really blame the Browns for dropping them. Now they need to find a new station, though, for their first pre-season game.

Bit of an impulsive move...As bad as it sounds, you think of your shareholders first...its a business...in poor taste sure...but to drop them without lining up someone first?...kinda crazy if you ask me...

I have to agree, running the tape was extremely tasteless and provided nothing of value. Kudos to the Browns for dropping them, but they really should have another stationed lined up first.
