The ESPN guys seemed to spend a lot of time talking about how tOSU could still be alive for a BCS bid. I don't know how you Buckeye fans feel about that.

Well if Penn State were to lose to Dantonio's Spartans, then we'd all be looking at tOSU vs USC again. Can the Bucks win that game? No, but they will at least put points on the board with Boeckman and Harron benched.
If (more likely) Penn State wins, the Buckeyes could have a chance at the Fiesta Bowl. But as OSUJP pointed out earlier - Utah and Boise State are still ranked higher and are undefeated. I say Boise gets a BCS berth, but Utah fans don't travel as well so they may be the odd man out.
Remember, only 2 teams per conference in the BCS - otherwise you'd see a Big 12 team in every damn game (since Mark May and the big sports media elites are in love with the Big 12)

As long as Utah wins out, they're in from what I can tell. If you win the MWC and finish top-12 in the BCS, then you are automatic. Regardless of how Utah's fans travel, they still get their BCS money as long as they play in the game.
Like I said about Boise State - this is an interesting case. CNNSI's main guy Stewart Mandel said that they can go undefeated, finish top-12, and still play in the Poinsettia Bowl. He said this happened already in 2004. I'm not sure what the criteria are for this to happen, but he seems to think it will happen.
OSU fans need to be anti-OSU (Oregon State) for the rest of the season. If Oregon State wins out, they're in the Rose and USC will take tOSU's spot in the BCS.
Personally, I think tOSU is damned if they do, damned if they don't. A BCS matchup would be with a powerhouse Big 12 team like Oklahoma, who would blow our doors off. A non-BCS matchup would be in the Capital One Bowl against an SEC team - Georgia most likely. They'd probably handle us, too.

I'd like to see tOSU vs Georgia.

It would be fitting. They were preseason #1 and #2 in a lot of polls.

BCS rules:
No more than one such team from Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference, the Mountain West Conference, the Sun Belt Conference, and the Western Athletic Conference shall earn an automatic berth in any year.
If two or more teams from those conferences satisfy the provisions for an automatic berth, then the team with the highest finish in the final BCS Standings will receive the automatic berth, and the remaining team or teams will be considered for at-large selection if it meets the criteria.
Utah would get the automatic and Bosie wold be elgiable for an at-large spot.
The 3 at-larges this year will be SEC runner-up, B12 runner up and USC (if Oregon state wins out) or Ohio St (if USC gets automatic berth. Bosie doesn't have a chance of getting picked over any of those schools.

Good find. There is your explanation, boys. Root against Oregon State. Tough game at Arizona this weekend. If tOSU beats Michigan and Oregon State loses a game, we're more than likely in the Fiesta Bowl. It's possible that the Fiesta Bowl could opt for Utah, given its proximity. That would put us in the Sugar Bowl against (gulp) the SEC runner-up.

Wish we could swap with UC and play the ACC champ. North Carolina? Miami? Blech.
At this point it does not matter. I just want to crush Michigan. Apparently the last 6 Wolverine head coaches have won their debut against tOSU.

Yeah - must be nice to be the last team chosen. At least this year. It's looking like Maryland vs. Cincinnati. The stars will be out for that one. Jerry Springer on the Bearcat sideline..That Guy That Invented Under Armour on the UMd. sideline..
Looks like Michigan's starting QB is doubtful this weekend. There is no excuse for this game even being close, let alone a loss.
