Default Miami's "throwback" win

Anyone catch the game on ESPN tonight? Miami beat Bowling Green 9-7 in a game that was basically old school, backyard, mud football. It had poured in BG all day, by halftime none of the numbers or lines on the field were visible, and many of the numbers on players jerseys were unreadable due to the mud.

Miami scored a touchdown, missed the extra point due to footing, and then kicked a short field goal to take the 9-7 lead. I thought they were going to get screwed again, with 3:00 to go in the game, BG threw an incomplete pass on 4th down, but the refs threw a flag, calling Miami offside, first down BG. However, replays showed that no one from Miami was offsides, but a BG wideout was. BG then missed a very short (under 30 yards...hard to tell with no yardline markers) field goal with 0:30 to go when the kickers plant foot slipped and he wiped out.

It just looked like a Jr High Game. I wouldn't call it throwback (this sounds like something Mr Lisp Lou Holtz would come up with), I'd call it "Time for BG to install some Amazing Field Turf"

It was fun to watch. I was flipping to it during "The Unauthorized History of Video Games" on CNBC

I was flipping back and forth to it. Man, by the end of the game, the Miami players were covered shoulder to toe in mud. It looked like both teams were wearing brown jerseys.

Congrats on the win, Redhawks.
