asking how we would know if she had been censored is a bit noobish if you ask me. because...ummm.. if she was censored, then we wouldn't know...that's sort of how censorship works.

"Official" Vice Presidential Debate Drinking Game Rules (feel free to append to this)
The Official* Vice Presidential Debate Drinking Game! « Slander ‘08
Quote:
Prepare yourself for this Thursday’s vice presidential debate by printing out the rules below for this year’s Vice Presidential Debate Drinking Game! Without further delay, we bring you the rules.
For Sarah Palin:
1. Every time Palin mentions one of her kids by name, take the number of drinks corresponding to that child’s number in her brood (e.g. 1 drink for Track, 2 drinks for Bristol, 3 drinks for Willow, 4 drinks for Piper and 5 drinks for Trig). If she does not give a name, take 1 drink.
2. When Palin mentions 9/11 in a textually-relevant manner (e.g. “We need to prevent another attack like the one on 9/11″), take 1 drink. When Palin mentions 9/11 in a gratuitous, textually-irrelevant manner (e.g. “When my son Track was sent over to Iraq on 9/11…”), take 2 drinks.
3. If Palin uses the phrase, “hockey mom”, drink until she takes the self-satisfied smirk off her face.
For Joe Biden:
1. Every time Biden chuckles condescendingly at Sarah Palin, take 1 drink. Every time Biden chuckles condescendingly at moderator Gwen Ifill, take 2 drinks.
2. Every time Biden refers to himself in the third person, take 1 drink. If he uses his full name (e.g. “When people ask me, ‘Joe Biden, how did you become so good looking?’”), take 2 drinks.
3. If Biden points out that despite being less than 1/100th the size, Delaware has more people than Alaska, drink until you see the bottom of your glass.
If either candidate says:
1. Russia, take 1 drink. U.S.S.R., take 2 drinks. Swimming the Bering Straight, take 3 drinks.
2. Hillary Clinton, take 1 drink. Bill Clinton, take 2 drinks. Monica Lewinsky, take 3 drinks.
3. Dick Cheney, take 1 drink. Tricky Dick, take 2 drinks. Sucking dick, take 3 drinks.
Finally, if at any point Biden uses the phrase “I know Geraldine Ferraro; Geraldine Ferraro is a friend of mine. Governor, you’re no Geraldine Ferraro,” chug your beer, turn off your TV, and shoot yourself in the head.
Note: Slander ‘08 only condones drinking irresponsibly during election years when you need it most.
* UPDATE: It has come to our attention that there has been more than one VP drinking game spreading about on the internet. We’d like to let you know that ours is the “Official” Vice Presidential Drinking Game as it is the only one approved by perennial congressional alcoholic Ted Kennedy and his brain tumor.
|
When Palin dodges a question by saying an issue should be handled at the "local level," take one drink
Anytime Biden says "Ladies and Gentlemen" take one drink

A VP Debate Drinking Game
Brought to you by CL
September 30, 2008
This Thursday! A debate for the ages! Two contestants, one vice presidency! Who will earn the honor of succeeding Dick Cheney?
In the blue corner Joe “I take the train home” Biden. In the red corner Sarah “I can see Russia from my house” Palin.
Blue Team Rules
¶ For every mention of Scranton, Pennsylvania: Take a sip.
¶ When Biden begins the “I take the train home everyday story” being drinking. Don’t stop ’till he finishes.
¶ When Biden questions Palin’s inexperience: Drink something you’ve never had before
¶ When Biden makes an obvious gaffe: Spill your neighbor’s drink
¶ When Biden uses X words when Y will do: Drink X-Y seconds
¶ When Biden patronizes or self identifies with the working class: Down some brew (Bonus points if you use Miller Highlife)
¶ When Biden lambastes Washington Insiders: Make a toast to his 35 years of experience in the United States Senate
The Joe Biden checklist. If he mentions all of the following, finish your drinks: Blue Collar, Golden Parachute, Little Guy, Washington Insider, Working Class, Clean
Red Team Rules
¶ Every time Palin cites Alaska’s proximity to Russia as “foreign policy experience”: Take a shot of vodka
¶ When Palin claims she said “Thanks but no thanks” to the Bridge to Nowhere: Demand a new drink from your hosts, say “thanks but no thanks,” and then when no one’s looking, take it anyway, then claim you never wanted it.
¶ When Palin recounts putting the governor’s jet on eBay: Auction off a beer to your friends
¶ When Palin insists that governing a small town in Alaska is in fact experience: Give your friend a shot glass of beer when he/she asks for a pint and insist it’s the same thing.
¶ When Palin points out that Biden thought Obama was too inexperienced for the job: Finish your drink and say, “Oh Snap!” If you’re a democrat, follow this by crying.
¶ When Palin claims that Washington’s problems can be solved by small town know how and common sense: Drink a Labatt Blue as you read up on how to become a Canadian citizen.
¶ When Palin talks about being the most popular governor in the country: Go to a room by yourself, realize you’re the most popular person in the room, then finish your drink.
The Sarah Palin checklist. If she mentions all of the following, finish your drinks: Bush Doctrine, Snow Machine, Moose, Lipstick, Hockey Mom, Family Values

So far I've heard:
Biden mention "Scranton"
Palin mention "soccer mom" but not "hockey mom"
Miller Lite is the beer of choice tonight.

i'm taking a break from filling out my absentee ballot (ohio), so this might be the last comment i make on the election since i said that i would rest my case when i sent my ballot out.
i've just watched the VP debate, plus ABC / NBC / PBS post-coverage. when Big Media calls it a "draw," that's their way of giving the win to a conservative. you will never see Big Media give a debate win to a conservative or a republican. not in this political climate, anyway.
here's what i take away from the debate:
palin can hold her own. i hope SNL starts diving into the gold mine of material that obama/biden have on tape. they likely won't because, frankly, they're not that talented. but palin definitely held her own, showed humility in moments, but was not the moose-in-headlights she was predicted to be.
i actually like joe biden! wow...i hadn't really listened to the guy too much, just read what he's said, or saw some youtube clips, etc. of his many gaffes. but he's a very likable man, and i sit here wanting a Palin/Biden ticket. at least there would be differing views in the white house so as to not let govt. get bigger or too confident. biden is a guy i'd like to sit down over coffee with at a Waffle House and talk about anything.
mccain and palin have got to start naming names with the whole economic crisis. there's a ton of facts they can cite on how democrats hold a lot of the blame. i was disappointed that palin didn't go after barney frank, dodd, etc.
ifill was less of a factor than i thought she'd be. she stayed on foreign policy longer than was necessary, which obviously favors biden, but overall she was probably more pleasant than the other guy.
seeing palin hold her own solidified my vote for her and mccain.
and with that, i don't plan on contributing to the election conversation, though if some kind of extraordinary october surprise happens, i may chime in. my vote will be in the mail tomorrow and that's that.

I agree, Palin held her own, she made a couple of comments I really agreed with. Biden was good too. My overall feeling afterward was "I like both of these people more than their respective Presidential candidates!"
Unfortunately, Palin and Biden aren't running for President, McCain and Obama are. A vote for McCain is not a vote for Palin, and a vote for Obama is not a vote for Biden. A vote for either is a vote for big government, more wars, and another step towards socialism, they still won't be getting my vote.

MOM, your constant use of the word " Big Media" makes me chuckle. The media is run by people dude. People formulate opinions. They can smell a fraud, just like you or me. Look at how ESPN covers Al Davis or Mike Brown. They portray them as clueless, senile owners because they are. Palin gets labeled as a superficial politician because she is. I also get the feeling that MOM takes PERSONAL offense when I (and 57% of America) rips on Sarah Palin. You shouldn't let it bother you man, that's just weird. People are entitled to have their opinions - it's not like we're cracking on your sister or something, it's literally some random Hockey Mom from the middle of nowhere.
I was at Woodmania's bachelor party last night so I only got to hear about 1/2 hr of the debate. From what I have read and heard (from Big Media sources of course) is that Palin did hold her own. She didn't drool on herself or say some crazy shit like in the infamous Couric and Gibson interviews. She followed my tips and tricks and stopped the bleeding. The Palin hataz can probably take a break. The Palin fanboys can breathe some sigh of relief.
What really seems to stand out though is Biden's "masterful" performance. To V3n0m's point, I have also read from numerous reviews that he sounded the most presidential out of the lot of these knuckleheads.
Everyone expected Palin to say something stupid and Biden to stick his foot in his mouth. It doesn't sound like that happened so to a certain extent, the 75 million people watching were disappointed

Again, I think Andrew Sullivan did a great job live-blogging the debate. He gave Palin the first-half - not due to substance, but stylistically - Biden was boring and Washingtonian while Palin was allowed to recite talking points and folksy anecdotes - but said Biden came on strong in the 2nd half and won the overall debate.
I turned it off after 45 mins. Too boring.

VP debates were rick rolled!
Presidential Debates: VP Debates, Rickrolled

chris Matthews and the CNBC crew did their best to report last night's vice presidential debate between Biden and Palin, but it appears that a rogue squadron of mavericks was able to sneak into the shot with a VP write-in of their own. I can't speak for anyone else here, but if an internet meme gets elected to office, I'm so moving to Canada—for real this time.

mom,
ordered your copy of Nailin' Palin yet??
The faux Sarah is Lisa Ann, who "will be nailing the Russians who come knocking on her back-door." In another scene -- a flashback -- "young Paylin's creationist college professor will explain a 'big bang' theory even she can't deny!"
There's also a threeway with Hillary and Condoleezza look-alikes.
The video is in pre-production, but is being fast tracked for release before the election.

yeah, joe did a great job!
Quote:
1. TAX VOTE: Biden said McCain voted “the exact same way” as Obama to increase taxes on Americans earning just $42,000, but McCain DID NOT VOTE THAT WAY.
2. AHMEDINIJAD MEETING: Joe Biden lied when he said that Barack Obama never said that he would sit down unconditionally with Mahmoud Ahmedinijad of Iran. Barack Obama did say specifically, and Joe Biden attacked him for it.
3. OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING: Biden said, “Drill we must.” But Biden has opposed offshore drilling and even compared offshore drilling to “raping” the Outer Continental Shelf.”
4. TROOP FUNDING: Joe Biden lied when he indicated that John McCain and Barack Obama voted the same way against funding the troops in the field. John McCain opposed a bill that included a timeline, that the President of the United States had already said he would veto regardless of it’s passage.
5. OPPOSING CLEAN COAL: Biden says he’s always been for clean coal, but he just told a voter that he is against clean coal and any new coal plants in America and has a record of voting against clean coal and coal in the U.S. Senate.
6. ALERNATIVE ENERGY VOTES: According to FactCheck.org, Biden is exaggerating and overstating John McCain’s record voting for alternative energy when he says he voted against it 23 times.
7. HEALTH INSURANCE: Biden falsely said McCain will raise taxes on people’s health insurance coverage — they get a tax credit to offset any tax hike. Independent fact checkers have confirmed this attack is false
8. OIL TAXES: Biden falsely said Palin supported a windfall profits tax in Alaska — she reformed the state tax and revenue system, it’s not a windfall profits tax.
9. AFGHANISTAN / GEN. MCKIERNAN COMMENTS: Biden said that top military commander in Iraq said the principles of the surge could not be applied to Afghanistan, but the commander of NATO’s International Security Assistance Force Gen. David D. McKiernan said that there were principles of the surge strategy, including working with tribes, that could be applied in Afghanistan.
10. REGULATION: Biden falsely said McCain weakened regulation — he actually called for more regulation on Fannie and Freddie.
11. IRAQ: When Joe Biden lied when he said that John McCain was “dead wrong on Iraq”, because Joe Biden shared the same vote to authorize the war and differed on the surge strategy where they John McCain has been proven right.
12. TAX INCREASES: Biden said Americans earning less than $250,000 wouldn’t see higher taxes, but the Obama-Biden tax plan would raise taxes on individuals making $200,000 or more.
13. BAILOUT: Biden said the economic rescue legislation matches the four principles that Obama laid out, but in reality it doesn’t meet two of the four principles that Obama outlined on Sept. 19, which were that it include an emergency economic stimulus package, and that it be part of “part of a globally coordinated effort with our partners in the G-20.”
14. REAGAN TAX RATES: Biden is wrong in saying that under Obama, Americans won’t pay any more in taxes then they did under Reagan.
