Demowhack....
So what? He isn't regisered to vote...
Does that make it wrong that he brought up an issue for voters to discuss, to ponder, to make their OWN decision on?

No it certainly does not. But if the McCain campaign staged all this (and then lied about it being fake) - we have a possible ethics problem.

as bad as the mccain campaign has been managed, i am very surprised to see they came up with something this clever. it has people talking about real issues. they should probably come out and admit this was all planned, otherwise the mainstream press won't let mccain live this down.

has there been concrete proof that joe is a fraud?
no.
if Big Media and Sen. Obama plan to attack a man whom is planning his route to success, and merely putting a face to Obama's tax policies, they had better prepare for a backlash at the voting polls.

What does Joe the Plumber care about his tax bill under the Obama plan - he don't pay no stinkin' taxes anyway!!!
Quote:
Wurzelbacher said he had a couple of plumbing jobs scheduled for today and hoped he would get more calls before the day was out.
He will need the money. Wurzelbacher's new notoriety has brought to light the fact that he owes nearly $1,200 in unpaid taxes.
"There is a judgment lien against him for nonpayment of income tax," Barb Losie, deputy clerk of the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas, told ABCNews.com. "The state files hundreds of liens a day. It means he owes that money."
Losie said Wurzelbacher owes $1,182 from January 2007, but no action has been taken against him outside of filing the lien.

This guy will be vetted. No one knows all the facts yet. By public records we can see that he is a registered republican and he did vote McCain in the primary (so yes, the previous buzz about him being unregistered is incorrect). Also by public records, we can see that he does not have a plumbing license. We also know his name is Samuel, but he may go by "Joe." We also know he owes the taxes as OSUJP pointed out.
I'm curious to see how this all plays out though. Right now there is no doubt in my mind this was all staged but I'm not ready to declare that it was staged directly by the McCain campaign.
take care,

I wouldn't classify a plumber who has somehow figured out how to CLEAR a $250,000.00 salary a working stiff. And I sure as hell wouldn't feel "bad" for this guy.

This may make our friend PokerDude happy...
Our Republican hero and "Voice of the everyday man", Joe the Plumber, who apparently believes he is entitled to his own personalized tax plan, is also "A Big Buckeye Fan"
Zut Alors!

Something about this AP article quote makes me laugh:
Quote:
Thursday morning, Obama's running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, said plumbers would not be affected by the Democrat's tax policies.
"You notice John [McCain] continues to cling to the notion of this guy Joe the Plumber," Biden said on NBC's "Today" show. "I don't have any Joe the plumbers in my neighborhood that make $250,000 a year that are worried."

Poor old John McCain can't take a step these days without stepping in a big pile of dog shit, it seems. A sad way for a good man to end his political career. Had he not been "Swift-Boated" by Bush and Rove in 2000, he'd have been a two term president and much better than what we got stuck with.

From AP tonight:
Joe the plumber throws a wrench into tax debate
Quote:
|
Obama has not defined a small business — and a lot of money rides on that unanswered question. The consequences of his plans, plus and minus, go beyond income taxes for business people whose earnings are in the vicinity of a quarter million.
|
The question whether or not Joe is a fraud is of no relevance.
The fact that Obama's tax "plan" IS a fraud is very relevant.

I say step back, take some deep breaths and just have some fun. What are your thoughts on Joe? Is he legit? The guy actually makes $40,000.00 a year and his company is only on pace to make $100,000.00 in 2008. Is he blowing smoke up everyones azz?
