Just Go Out of Business
Why is it critical for me, an American taxpayer, to enable crappy American auto-makers to keep churning out junk no one wants to buy?
If you can't make money, you go out of business or you restructure. That's the way it works in this country. Can someone please tell the Democratic party?
Reid, Pelosi Urge Treasury to Extend Aid to Automakers

I agree with this post. Enough of the bailouts.

Franny the alleged "left wing nut job" agrees as well. The Japanese automakers will continue to crush their American competition. Why give these knuckleheads more money?
Use that money to finance the creation of some solar powered public transportation. This is all about jobs, right?

the idea that american automakers make an inferior product that no one wants is simply incorrect. but they are terribly mismanaged. they went through this once and didn't learn from their mistakes. they weren't prepared for the shift from trucks to cars and couldn't meet demand. it was so absurd they had lots full of trucks they couldn't sell while people wanted cars that they didn't have. (i've heard 1st hand accounts from a local sales manager) i have both, a superduty and a fusion and love them both. only have 15k on the fusion but have 120k on the truck, no problems from either one. i get great mpg on the fusion and still have over 200hp.
but of course, i'm against any money to the automakers. especially to use to buy another as in gm buying chrysler. that's idiotic, gm only wants chryslers cash and will basicly gut the company and close most of their factories.

I probably won't buy American again. The two American cars I have owned have been ok, but I have never had the problems with a foreign car that I had with an American one. Granted, I am sure that the foreign cars were probably built in the US, but that's not the argument, is it?

no, but it's a good point. while foreign automakers have been building factories in the u.s, domestic automakers have been building factories outside of the u.s. of course the uaw is the reason.

trash powered! instead of people depositing their trash into waste baskets along the street, they just throw their trash into metro buses! hell, they can throw their household trash in every morning. businesses could throw their trash into metro buses! this would solve all kinds of problems like landfills....
