Welcome one...welcome all to THE official "Thank You Obama Voter Thread". Since we all know that a less than intelligent decision amongst some of the citizens of this country has given us this....well...we don't know quite what it is yet...but it sure as hell ain't no LEADER....this thread will serve as the official THANK YOU thread to those pathetic soles who felt "so overcome with hope" that they had to stick their heads farther up their collective fecal depository cavities and put him in office.

So...the rule here is simple...every time the guy in charge...comes down with another socialistic, increased spending, increased tax, increased government babysitting / involvement, etc decision.......

1. Hop in here and state your grievance
2. At the end..in caps...say THANK YOU OBAMA VOTER

Do you even know anything about the inheritance / estate tax? It is only levied against those who obtain EXTREME wealth- only the top 1 tenth of 1 percent of people will actually pay this. It was originally put in place by Theodore Roosevelt as a means to prevent the emergence of the dominating aristocracy that we saw in old europe. The tax also prevents people from hoarding money and crippling innovation by establishing a disincentive to work among the rich/educated (i.e. trust fund babies).

If you believe in Personal Responsibility and that one should create his or her own success(meaning, that you are a REAL conservative), then you should support the so called "death tax."

Punish the rich!! How dare people try to save money for their families so their ancestors don't have to struggle the way they did!!

I think Personal Responsibility means keeping the fruits of your labor and teaching your children the same Personal Responsibility (i.e. get an education and be a productive member of society).

If I work hard and make something of myself, I want to provide for my children, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't teach them that very same work ethic, and it doesn't mean the government should take away 45-55% of what I accomplished to provide for them. I want to teach them that work ethic, I do not want the government to force them into labor by eliminating my hard work.

Think you had better check your numbers Franny.

It is true the federal estate tax right now does not cover a lot of the people. In 2011 it is to go to 1,500,00 and 35%. However the Messiah wants to take it back to the 1997 level of 600,000 and 55%. That would affect a lot of people.

But you forgot one thing. It is called the State of Ohio inheritence tax. That is over 338,333 there is a tax of 13900 and 6% of all over that number.
Over 500,000 it is 23,600 and 7% of all over that nmber.

Think that would cover more than one tenth of one percent of the country.

Why is it lately I see people giving Obama grief over his usage of a TelePrompTer? I don't get it. Really, of all the things about which to get on the guy, and the right picks this? IIRC, Bush wasn't a great speaker by any means.He stuttered and dropped more lines than any other President I can think of.

And before this gets out of hand, I'm not a Dem or a Republican. I voted for neither guy in the election. I just get annoyed/amused when "the talking points" are released for a given side, and they hammer them home for the next couple of weeks. I'm sure next week everyone will be talking about a different pedestrian thing.
