9/11 Trials in NYC
Interesting topic that I don't think has been discussed here.
Tedesco, can you arrange for Dick Morris to get fitted for his tin foil hat? His latest conspiratorial article:

Finally, there is the disturbing question of what will happen if Mohammed and/or his some of his confreres are found to be not guilty. Where will they be released? Will they walk out of the courtroom free to prowl the streets of New York, their transportation having been paid courtesy of the taxpayers? Will they be flown to Afghanistan to resume their plots against our government and our people, again at taxpayer expense?

Ah yes...I can't believe we haven't discussed the prospect of a jury of 12 New Yorkers acquitting the 9/11 Mastermind. It could happen!
I would think that NYC is the last place on earth this guy would get a fair trial. That's why you shouldn't try him there.

He committed war crimes and terrorist acts...he should be tried in a military court.
End of story.

i'm not sure there's a winner in any direction in this situation.
if you go military tribunal, then it's just another log on the fire for the islam jihad - another reason to shoot a soldier. that fire is burning fairly bright still, so i think this might actually be the least dirty of all the possible methods.
if you go the decided route then it actually makes a mockery out of the US system because the suspects are now INNOCENT until they are proven guilty in a court of law. and to OSU's point, the trial will take place in NYC so even if there was a grain of possibility they were in fact innocent, it's all shit now because of the location of the trial. i seriously doubt that these men will have any kind of "peer" in the jury, either. so once again, moving forward makes the us brand of Justice look like a joke (again).
if you just killed these guy in the field, then maybe there's intel that is lost. never know. in talking with my pals who are soldiers who have done a few tours in iraq and afghanistan, they'd like to see the cuffs come off and kill more of these guys than detain them.
the only thing i know is this: we do not have a war-time president. even though i'm as anti-war as anyone out there, i'd rather have someone in charge of this situation whose motives i trusted.

Give them the same trial and fate they gave any U.S or United Nations soldier captured by them.
Of course if you do that you will have Sean Penn (sp) and Hanoi John Kerry calling the US barbarians and wanting to release tham by slapping their hand and saying "Promise you won't do that again."

I'm not sure Obama is not to be trusted, but I do think that his actions here will make or break him. I would love to see him get aggressive.

Pat Buchanan raises good questions:
Is America a Serious Nation? - Yahoo! News
Also, did anyone see the Daily Show segment last night, pitting Giuliani v.2006 against Giuliani v.2009, as it pertains to the rights afforded to Muslim enemy combatants? It was priceless.
Hint: Giuliani v.2006 (when Bush was Prez) thought trying terrorists in US court was great, Giuliana v.2009 (when Obama is Prez) thinks trying terrorists in US court is STUPID.

TDS is pretty good at coming up with that kind of information.

Since when is stating the truth babbling. Sean Penn had spoken for Iraq since before the first gulf war. He visited Sadam several times and said the Government was as bad as the terrorists for putting Sadam to death.
Hanoi John has always wanted the terrorists released and has been against anything involving the military since he united with Hanoi Jane years ago protesting nam. Remember he made a big deal about throwing away his purple heart he got for sitting on a splinter. People later found out it was a fake. He has voted against almost every military bill since he has been in office.

So Obama-san and his croney Eric Holder say these people will be tried, convicted, and executed....so why waste taxpayer money on it...just takem out and shoot em.....
