To automatically peg me as liberal in your mind means that you assume that I will always take the side of other liberals in any argument you present. The fact is there are things about both parties I agree with. Not liking the current president does not make me a de-facto liberal. Just saying.

I would be interested in hearing which core conservative principals you agree with.

I am against Affirmative Action. I don't believe in over-taxing the rich just because they can afford it. I believe in a smaller government that doesn't intrude on it's people. I believe in the death penalty.

OK, So Barack Husseins Obama was elected president. Apparently this event has brought a great amount of misery and stress to some members of this website. Members are once again Boycotting. Is it time to close Spin City II? What can we talk about? Rahm Emmanuel?

If you can't handle it, don't click it.
Now that the elections are over, I imagine political topics will spin down as we all adjust to our new overlord and settle into a nice complacent groove.

I read an article recently that stand-up comedians and late-night talk show hosts are looking forward to Obama taking over, so they can start making fun of someone new.
I wonder what the underlying joke will be with Obama. Obviously with Bush, the underlying message in every joke was "Bush is stupid". This certainly will not be the case with Obama. So what do you think will be the underlying theme of everyone's "Obama" jokes? Will they make fun of his "cool as a cucumber" demeanor? I think it's fair to say that whatever they make fun of, their jabs will not be half as mean-spirited as they are towards Bush.

Bill Maher has said on a number of occasions that Obama is the most difficult President ever to make fun of. Obama isn't stupid, he doesn't make any gaffes, he's not fat, he's a good dad/husband (from what we know)....
And let's face it, Fred Armisen's impersonation of Obama on SNL isn't very funny at all.
I guess that means Joe Biden will be a big target!

Maher is right. Obama is as educated as any prez in our lifetime, as articulate as any prez in our lifetime, and as clean-cut as any prez in our lifetime. It would make no sense to paint him as the bumbling idiot falling on top of coffee tables or botching the english language.
The only way I can imagine SNL actually being funny is by playing on racial stereotypes, which won't happen. But if you're a fan of Curb your Enthusiasm, you'd probably agree that this past season was one of the funniest seasons in the history of television. All because of the introduction of the Katrina family - more specifically, their brother "Leon", who embodied many "black" stereotypes. Maybe Barack's long-lost relatives can show up on the White House doorstep looking for a place to live...SNL wouldn't dare go there, would they?
Even if they did, they still wouldn't be making fun of Barack - he would just be a character in the sketches. Kinda like SNL has been the past several months - I actually heard Bill O'Reilly claim that SNL was "equal opportunity" this campaign season, as far as making fun of the candidates. No they weren't. Just because Barack was in sketches doesn't mean they were making fun of him. They weren't. They made fun of the media and its puppy love relationship with him...he was more of a secondary character in the sketches. But the Republican side of the ticket - namely Sarah Palin - was portrayed as retarded. For good reason, in her case.
Tough dude to make fun of, that Barack.

Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank and John Murtha would agree with O'Reilly's comments.
They could have been a lot tougher on McCain. He deserved it.

For a humorous take on the election night, watch last Wednesday Night's South Park. Classic.

I loved the idea, but the episode lacked the laughs that I'm used to.
However, any scene in which Stan's dad is drunk and obnoxious is must-see TV.
