Close Spin City
White Magic made the request for this forum but he has once again Abandoned the site. Tedesco isn't preaching the idealogies of the far left and Shanty isn't on here telling everyone he's a "moderate." So, things didn't turn out as expected with the forum and by majority vote (I guess that means like 3 votes) - Spin City II will be shut down!
All In Favour?

unless there is a left point of view, it's no fun.

Our resident Libérale dans le déni is Tedesco - but he hasn't been posting.

I'm for leaving it up. Right now the 2008 election is kind of far off, and people aren't really thinking about it - the only coverage is on cable stations, it hasn't even really hit locally yet. But I think as it gets closer to the date and primary elections start being held, the discussion might heat up.
On the other hand, I discuss politics so much on another site, I sort of enjoy having this place to go where it's not really an issue and the majority of the time is spent talking about subjects that aren't so serious.
But for now, I vote to keep it.

i say keep it open for at least the winter. come april or may, close it down once the GOP guy is obvious. if he is not obvious by then, i say keep it open even longer.
here's why: sure, it seems like there are mostly right-leaning guys here (so far), but when it comes down to the primaries and choosing between the men to go up against the hillary/obama ticket, i think there will be an airing of differences among us. maybe mit romney surfaces, maybe fred thompson, maybe ron paul continues his success. maybe rudy and mccain form a ticket early. maybe fred and mit do, too. it's going to be interesting.
just let the holidays pass us by. i bet things get more interesting after that.
if it does close, though, i welcome everyone over to a myspace group i have found to be rather vibrant during politial seasons.

Alright, the forum stays for now.
Feel to post your opinions! Abortion? Gay Marriage? Tax hikes to support the Mentally Retarded? We're all passionate about something - post your opinion!

Hullo sportsfans!
No, I was never in boycott mode. I did get to a point with this site though where I felt stressed out the moment I logged in. I knew I was going to have to defend UC, the Big East, and god knows what else. I started going places where I could talk about the teams near and dear to my heart without suffering all the pot shots, etc. It was kind of cool. I already take medication for hypertension... the last thing I needed was forum-related stress so I took some time off.
There have been moments when I've thought about stopping in to see what's up but never got around to it until now. I didn't want to jump back in last week either because it would have looked like I timed my return to coincide with all the anti-OSU, Big Ten smack that was raining down from basically everywhere. I didn't want to pile on.

Welcome back to Spin City. At least you know how JP, Mills and I felt after you started the infamous conference wars in the first place
Hopefully you can have some good/clean battles with the site's resident liberal, Tedesco.

Fixed for accuracy. Consider me undecided.

Who are you kidding Tedesco? You're a friggin' liberal.
It's always been interesting to me that "liberal" is a dirty word even to liberals. They hate being referred to in that way. The only exception might be Shantyman who doesn't really seem to care.
Also... I don't like the odds that whatever battles I have on here will be "good/clean". It's just not in my nature.
