The one intelligent thing Willie said during his speech:

I keep seeing an Obama commercial that I truly do not understand. Maybe someone here can help me out with it.
It's the one where he's talking to a room full of people and he says (and I'm paraphrasing here) "I went to Detroit and I told the auto manufacturers that we need cars that are more fuel efficient. Now the room got pretty quiet..." < audience chuckles >
Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm pretty sure the auto manufacturers are all beating each other over the head to put out the most fuel-efficient cars they can. In an age of ever-rising gas prices I would think it would help them sell cars. Why would they get quiet over an idea like fuel efficiency?
Now if he'd made these statement in a room full of oil company executives I can understand why they might have gotten quiet.

brother, i mock that commercial every time it comes on the tv. it is more of the same: style over content. if you break this ad down, he's not saying anything.
i might as well film myself walking out to a tree this afternoon and commanding that it eventually grow leaves. then say, "the tree got kind of quiet." hardy-fucking-har.

The other thing I constantly hear in BHO's commercials that doesn't quite make sense to me is the bit about how after graduating from Harvard Law he passed up a career on Wall Street to become a community organizer. Huh? Is Wall Street the logical next step for someone getting out of law school?

I think the point was that he passed up what might have been a lucrative career to "keep it real".

Believe me, I get the point. I just don't equate lawyering with Wall Street. Not that the investment community doesn't have a need for the occasional lawyer... I don't know. If Wall Street is your ambition you typically pursue finance or economics or something, right?

Hey... Has anyone heard of Larry Sinclair? He has some interesting things to say about our buddy BHO. Pretty sordid stuff.
Is this the Clinton Slime machine in action? Or is the guy just a kook?

I saw a little bit about it. Seems he failed a lie detector test concerning his story, so he's been pretty discredited. However, the folks that issued the lie detector were very vague on what exactly he failed, so who knows, maybe they just covered it up.

went for a drive today with the wife and baby, and saw two interesting scenes:
first, we stopped at a McD's on reading road in reading, where the place was abuzz with energy. leaving there and heading south i saw why: three blocks of people lining the street waving, cheering, holding up all kinds of Obama signs, some "official" some home made, asking cars to honk in support of him. they were cheerful, and it had a really upbeat vibe - even when i gave the sign to everyone while smiling, they were good spirited.
we drove around a while and end up in at the intersection of edwards & madison road in hyde park. here, Hillary supporters were trying to do the same thing only with 1/4 the number of people, very low energy (compared to the Bama Queens), and no one was honking
i laughed out loud as i thought about the comparisons. aside from the striking difference in numbers and energy, there was the obvious race issue on full display. Obama in a part of town dominated by blacks, Hillary where whites dominate. "wealthy" versus "not so much." very interesting to me.
saw a few Ron Paul signs, and one John McCain sign, too.
