Better Know A Prospect: The Fightin' Posluszny!By Woodmania Published: February 20, 2007  Print  Email Cincinnati Sports is taking a look at some of the players in the NFL Draft during our Better Know A Prospect series. Paul Posluszny is a linebacker I've seen on a few mock drafts that could be picked by our Bengals. Due to a crazy 2006 season, the linebacker position is thinner than I would like. Could PP be what Cincinnati needs? There's the "C" Word Again: What's the kid's character like? Impecable, apparently. GoPSUsports's profile of him goes like this: "With a trophy cabinet overflowing with accolades, an equally impressive grade-point average (3.57 in finance following the spring semester) and a humble, yet piercingly intense demeanor that inspires the respect and loyalty of teammates, All-American Paul Posluszny easily could have been a too-good-to-be-true character ripped from the pages of a 1950’s teen novel." Seems like just what the Bengals battered PR department could go for right now. Woody's Take: Big time player at a big time school who's a super quality guy. Is it just me or does he sound a lot like David Pollack? And you wouldn't have to have him switch positions. We'll see how his numbers look at this week's NFL Combine but a guy who can contribute to the team on the field and to the team's image off-the-field would be a homerun. Maybe this is the guy who can do both. Besides, Jack Ham said Posluszny was the best linebacker to ever play at Penn State. Best LB ever at Linebacker U? Sounds good to me. I'd love to see Posluszny come here! I've watched him play for the last 2 years and he is an outstanding player. Every announcer comments on how much this kid truly studies the game. Unfortunately, I think he'll be gone before Cincinnati gets to make their first pick.
